Ashtalakshmi Stotram Lyrics with Meaning

Ashtalakshmi Stotram is a hymn dedicated to the eight manifestations of Goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity, and fortune. Composed by the sage Adi Shankaracharya, this stotram glorifies the various forms of Lakshmi and seeks her blessings for wealth, well-being, and success.

Each verse of the stotram describes a specific aspect of Lakshmi, known as an “Lakshmi form,” and emphasizes the importance of seeking her grace for a fulfilled and prosperous life. The eight forms of Lakshmi invoked in the stotram are Adi Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Dhairya Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Veera Lakshmi, Vijaya Lakshmi, and Aishwarya Lakshmi.

Meaning in English

Jaya jaya durgatināśini kāmini, Sarvaphalaprada śāstramaye
Radhagaja turagapadāti samāvṛta, Parijana maṇḍita loka-nute
Harihara brahma supūjita sevita, Tāpanivāriṇi pādayute
